The Singles Dance is no more. I have decided to quit, I hope you will understand. I cannot keep doing
this for 10 to $60 dollars a night.
I have kept going with the dance because I really enjoy doing
it for the 70 or 80 of you that keep coming each month. Many of you have said you didn't know what you would do with out the
dance and that has bothered me very much. I also don't know what Nancy and I would do without seeing all of you each month.
Now I have something to offer all of you. Another dance! This one will be at another location
and it will not be a singles dance. I have worked out a deal with the Bloomington Moose Lodge to have dances there twice a
month.
I have tried to rent the room at the moose lodge for the last couple of years but
they would not rent it to me because it is a private club, "members only" and they could not make it open to the
public.
I told them I had 60 - 80 loyal dancers that needed a place to dance and that most
of you would love to join the moose! They about fell over! What a chance for them to increase their membership!
So here's the deal. The Moose Lodge in Bloomington is having a membership drive dance on Saturday July 23 (
thats the night after what would have been my regular 4th Friday dance at the Lafayette Club) from 7PM to 11PM. Guess who
the dj is. Thats right, ME. What could be better? Its FREE....thats right FR double E. You have just saved 10 bucks. Not only
that, the dance floor is the same size as the Lafayette Club. It's tile not wood but the world is not perfect.
It's a great place! I know. I've been trying to rent it for quite awhile. Years ago, when I had my band we would
play there every month and the dancers loved it, and I'm betting you will too.

whats the catch? None really, I wish I had thought of this a long time ago. You come to this Membership drive dance for FREE
and if you like it you join the Moose. By doing so, you end up a member of all Moose lodges and they all have dances also.
Unlimited dancing opportunities for one price. For men, the membership fee for one year is $60 and for women it's $50. Now,
if your married only the men have to join and their wives are their husbands guests. If your not married and join you may
bring a guest once or twice then the lodge will expect that person to join. I guess you can all hurry to the courthouse and
get married to save some money but thats up to you.
For now the lodge has given me two dates,
both on Saturdays because they have 8 bands that they also book for Friday night dances and July & August are already
booked. If enough of you come out for this dance and also join they have promised to give one Friday and one Saturday night
each month for my dances. The two dates they have given me are July 23 and August 27th. Thats as close to the 4th Friday
as I could get and there may be a Friday night opening up in August also. If enough of you come out and join on the July 23
they will book me for the remainder of the year. Oh, I forgot to tell you the best part of this deal....they want me to play
for New Years Eve also. By being a member, you get in FREE on New Years Eve also.
So, Lets
do some math... Come out to the dance on July23 and Join the Bloomington Moose, pay $60 if your a male ( remember the women
memberships are only $50) Come back on Aug. 27th for my next dance ( don't forget that possible other date in August which
I will know about on July 23). Attend two dances in September and one in October and basically for what you would have paid
me to come to six Lafayette dances, you can come to all of my dances through next July including this New
Years Eve for FREE! What a deal! Come to six of my old dances and it cost you 60 bucks. Join the Moose and you have
the opportunity to attend 12 to 24 dances with me for the same price. Plus, you can come and dance to those other eight bands
for Free also. The Moose serves dinners on Friday nights also and the drinks are allot cheaper too. How could you NOT want
to join.
So, whats in it for ME? I get a place to see all of you dance on a regular basis and
somebody else pays me. I don't have to worry if I'm going to make enough to pay the club or my gas. I don't have to worry
about you, my friends(and many of you are my very good friends)not having a place to come to visit and dance.
I would hope that all of you will please come out for this FREE dance. I hope that many of you join so that
we can keep our dance alive.
